Pair of silver cruets and tray, Master goldsmith Jean-François GROLLET, Nancy circa 1780. The cruets are baluster-shaped, with two threaded rims, the base decorated with scrolls, reeds or pampers on a bitter background, the handles with scrolls. The top is contoured and fillet-molded. Later engraved with a coat of arms surmounted by a marquis's crown, under the motto "VIRTUS IN NOBILIBUS PLACET". Length of tray: 24.3cm - Width: 17 cm - Height of cruets: 13.5 cm. Overall weight: 544g. (Damage to the fixings under the cruets).
