NARDO DUNCHI (1914-2010) - Lot 430
NARDO DUNCHI (1914-2010) Loose composition in bone pierced with asymmetrical cells, set in 18K (750) gold. Signed. One of a kind. French work from the 1980s. Dimensions: approx. 5 x 5 cm. Gross weight: 28.3 g Trained as a sculptor at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Carrara, he spent some time in the Montparnasse studios before playing a very active role in the Italian Resistance during the Second World War. After this interlude of absolute commitment, he continued to search for the "Harmony of light and shadow", in large and small volumes alike. This search is illustrated here in very small format by the two jewels we present, a brooch and a ring dated 1987. A copy of the drawings and a related letter from Nardo Dunchi will be given to the purchaser of each of these works.
