Georges BASTARD (1881-1939) "Butterfly by night". Ebony box with a domed circular body and a circular projecting lid decorated with carved horn on a mother-of-pearl background. Direct-cut decoration (the horn is slightly missing and the wood is cracked). Signed and dated (19)11 on the reverse, label numbered 119. Height 3.5 cm - diameter 8.5 cm History: at the 1908 Salon, he exhibited a button with a similar design, and in 1909 a rectangular box with the same design.
