Édouard Léon CHAPELLE (Édouard Eugène Victor CHAPELLE dit, 1887 - 1968) "Turtle". Luminous blown-glass subject in a hammered wrought-iron frame (glass cracked and damaged in several places, bumps, minor oxidation to the frame, no guarantee of function). No signature. Height 8.5 cm - Length 26.5 cm - Depth 11.5 cm History: Edouard Léon Chapelle was an ironworker from Nancy whose work is distinguished by the production of animal sculptures using blown glass, created between 1925 and 1935. He notably collaborated with Lorraine glassmakers such as the Muller brothers and André Delatte. Provenance: former Édouard Léon Chapelle collection; now in the family.
